Project Details
The project at Beckton Station involved the design, fabrication, and installation of prominent illuminated signage to enhance the station’s visual identity. Links Signs fabricated the station’s illuminated letters from stainless steel and mounted them on a hinging stand, allowing for easy access during maintenance. The support frame for these letters was constructed from mild steel, which was hot-dipped galvanised and powder coated for durability and weather resistance.
In addition to the letters, a new post-mounted architectural DLR roundel was installed. This roundel featured a 3.5-meter stainless steel post supporting a large, internally illuminated DLR logo. The roundel’s design included stainless steel with powder-coated edges and 5mm Perspex faces, which were enhanced with translucent vinyl to ensure the brand’s colours were accurately represented. The use of LED illumination ensured a long lifespan and reduced maintenance costs for the signage.
Conclusion
The Beckton Station project showcases Links Signs’ ability to deliver durable, high-quality illuminated signage that is both visually striking and maintenance-friendly.
