We’re proud to have continued our support for Transport for London (TfL) in their efforts to keep Londoners safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Challenge
In response to the ongoing pandemic, TfL, in partnership with the NHS and Go Ahead London, launched several innovative initiatives to enhance public safety. One of these initiatives was the creation of two Ambu buses, designed to provide mobile medical support. Following the successful completion of this project, TfL approached Links Signs with another crucial task: to design and install temporary signage along a 1.4-mile walking route in East London.
Our Solution
Encouraging Safe Travel
The walking route was established to encourage Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and Jubilee Line passengers to disembark at Canning Town and walk the 26-minute route to the ExCel Centre, which was being used as a Covid-19 vaccination centre. This initiative aimed to reduce congestion on the busy public transport lines, allowing for better social distancing and safer travel.
Links Signs produced and installed 26 Correx boards along the path, providing clear, durable signage to guide commuters from Canning Town to the ExCel Centre. These signs were strategically placed at regular intervals, ensuring that pedestrians could easily navigate the route and stay on track.
Trusted Partnership with TfL
Links Signs has a longstanding relationship with TfL, built on trust, reliability, and a commitment to safety. Our accredited and highly trained teams are known for their expertise in manufacturing and installation, which made us the ideal partner for this project. The creation and installation of the temporary signage was a straightforward task, but the impact it has on enhancing public safety in London is what truly inspires us.
By guiding passengers to the ExCel Centre via a safe and clearly marked walking route, this project helps reduce the strain on London’s public transport system, contributing to the broader efforts to manage the pandemic effectively.
Conclusion
We are honored to have played a role in supporting TfL’s initiatives to keep Londoners safe during these challenging times. If you’re interested in working with us on your next project, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
