Links Signs was commissioned to create a series of vitreous enamel infographic panels for Hastings Castle, designed by Aral Design. These panels form a historical timeline along the approach path to the castle entrance, illustrating key events from the Mesolithic period to the present.

Project details

The project involved fabricating two-part vitreous enamel panels that depict key historical dates and narratives for visitors. The panels were designed with vibrant red angled sections displaying the dates and white face panels showcasing detailed infographics. The graphics were a mix of screen-printed images and digitally printed photos, sealed during the enamelling process. The panels were mounted on aluminium-backed posts, which were carefully installed by our expert team after scanning for buried services and levelling the posts. The installation was completed with a high-quality tarmac finish, ensuring durability and a polished appearance.

Conclusion

The Hastings Castle infographic panels successfully combine historical storytelling with durable and visually striking design. By using vitreous enamel, we ensured the panels would withstand the elements and resist vandalism, preserving the rich history of Hastings Castle for years to come.
