A significant redevelopment project which included the construction of a new station for Crossrail. With a budget of £1 billion, this project required the station to remain operational throughout the extensive works.
Project Details
The Tottenham Court Road Station enhancement was a complex and ambitious project, necessitating a coordinated approach to ensure the station remained functional during the redevelopment. Links Signs was awarded the contract for the manufacture and installation of over 191 station signs, including both standard and bespoke designs tailored to the new station architecture.
Starting in late 2014 and concluding in the summer of 2016, the project was executed in phases to align with the station’s construction schedule. Links Signs produced and installed signage on a “just in time” basis, ensuring that each phase of the station’s redevelopment was equipped with the necessary signage to meet its opening requirements. A standout feature of the project was the installation of a 27-meter-long LED illuminated fascia that encircles the station entrance, providing a striking visual element.
